Manchester United close on deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata with personal terms set to be agreed

Manchester United are nearing a deal to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The Spanish star will leave the European Champions this summer and Sportsmail understands that personal terms are close to being agreed.
Jose Mourinho has focused his transfer efforts on signing a new No 9 with United not offering the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic a fresh deal.

And with Everton's Romelu Lukaku seemingly set for Chelsea for a British transfer record, Morata fits the bill at Old Trafford.
United have shown long-term interest in Morata and could pay up to £60million for the striker.
Lukaku would prefer a return to Chelsea with the west London side desperate to get rid of Diego Costa after his bust-up with Antonio Conte.

Morata worked under Jose Mourinho after coming through the youth ranks at Real Madrid. The Spanish giants re-signed him last summer after a spell at Juventus.
Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, will continue to train at the club's Carrington training ground despite not getting a new deal.
The Swedish icon damaged his knee ligaments in April's Europa League clash against Ajax and is not expected to be fit until January next year.
